Monsignor Siffrin gives new assignments to 3



One of the priests is a trustee of the Diocese of Youngstown Foundation.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Three priests of the Diocese of Youngstown have received new assignments from Monsignor Robert J. Siffrin, diocesan administrator.
The Rev. John-Michael Lavelle was appointed pastoral director of Catholic Television Network of Youngstown, effective May 18; the Rev. Maciej Mankowski was appointed administrator at St. Joseph Church and St. Mary Church, both in Newton Falls, effective July 1; and the Rev. Leo Wehrlin was appointed administrator of St. Ambrose Church in Garrettsville, effective July 1.
Backgrounds
Father Lavelle was ordained May 27, 2000, after seminary studies at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa. He had served as associate pastor of St. Mary Church in Massillon and St. Christine Church before being named pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, where he will continue. He also has served as chaplain of the Serra Club of Youngstown and is a member of the board of trustees of the Diocese of Youngstown Foundation.
Father Mankowski is a native of Kowal, Poland. He completed seminary studies at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake, Mich., and was ordained May 26, 2001. Father Mankowski serves as associate pastor at St. Charles Church in Boardman. He is a member of the Priests' Council.
Father Wehrlin was ordained June 12, 1993, after completing seminary studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary, Cincinnati. He has served as associate pastor at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna and St. Michael Church in Canton. Father Wehrlin was pastor at St. Ann Church in Sebring before being named director of the Office of Vocations, a position he will keep in addition to his new assignment. He previously served on the Priests' Council. Father Wehrlin also is diocesan director of Scouts.
