Medical alliance officers installed, funds donated

POLAND -- Stephanie Hunter of Canfield was installed as the 67th president of Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance during a luncheon and meeting held May 5 at Poland Library.
Dolly Handel, past president and financial representative for Ohio State Medical Alliance, conducted the ceremony and also installed Lynee Aaid-Toss, president elect; Donna Hayat, vice president; Karen Kuppler, recording secretary; Anita Gestosani, treasurer; and Tricia Potesta, corresponding secretary.
A graduate of Brown University with a bachelor's degree in biology and from Duke University with a master's in hospital/health care administration, Hunter has 24 years of progressive management experience in hospital, HMO and health insurance.
Hunter is involved with the YWCA of Youngstown, Youngstown Symphony Guild, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, St. Elizabeth Health Center, the Junior League of Youngstown, Canfield Swim and Dive Booster, Gym Jammerz Boosters and Canfield Public Schools.
Focus on funds
She plans to raise funds for St. John Sunday lunch (soup kitchen), the YWCA of Youngstown's housing program for women and children, the Protestant Family Services/emergency medication and St. Elizabeth's mobile medical van.
Active in the alliance since she came to the Mahoning Valley nine years ago, she is married to Dr. Timothy J. Hunter. They have two sons.
Members of the Alliance donated diapers for the Beatitude House. Donations of $2,300 each were also presented to the Beatitude House and to the Rich Center for Autism on behalf of the 2005/2006 Medical Alliance.
