Family, friends to celebrate life of DiPiero, who fell off ship

AUSTINTOWN -- The family of Daniel L. DiPiero, who perished when he fell off a cruise ship two weeks ago, will have a celebration of his life for family and friends.
The celebration, a casual gathering, will be Saturday at Austintown Township Park on Kirk Road. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. A presentation that includes remarks from family and friends, prayer and an original song written by a family member will begin at the bandshell at 4 p.m., said family spokeswoman Tracy Naples Gassen. The family asks those attending to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
The family asks that instead of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the DiPiero family at Lane Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, 44515. Digital condolences can be posted at www.lanefuneralhomes.com.
DiPiero, 21, lived on South Turner Road in Canfield with his parents, Susan and Ronald.
