Hubbard resident gets small role in movie
THE VINDICATOR
A gymnastics judge from the Mahoning Valley has a nonspeaking role in the movie "Stick It," which is now in theaters.
Carol Arnaut of Hubbard, who is the Ohio state judging director and a nationally-certified gymnastics judge, plays a judge for the bar routine in the film. She got involved through friends from California, who are also gymnastics judges.
They were already involved with the movie as consultants, and asked Arnaut if she wanted to play a part. "Stick It" is about a rebellious gymnast in an elite program. It stars Jeff Bridges and Missy Peregrym. Arnaut flew to California and stayed for 11 days during filming.
"It was a good time," she said. Arnault was paid for her work on the film, but said she broke even after factoring in the cost of airfare and a motel room. How did she like the movie? "I thought it was very nice," she said. "It was realistic, although they did take a few liberties."
