'BABY BRILLIANT' PROGRAMS
"Time for Babies and Books." Books, songs, rhymes and more for babies 6-23 months at Austintown, 10:30 a.m. April 11; Canfield, 10 a.m. April 7; Poland, 10 and 11 a.m. April 5; and at Boardman, 9:30 a.m. April 6 for babies 6-12 months; 10:30 a.m. April 6 for babies 13-23 months. "Make Games & amp; Play Games." For school-age children at Brownlee Woods, April 7; Campbell, April 6; and Struthers, April 5. All three programs are scheduled for 4 p.m.
"Calling All Quiz Kids." Answer questions about popular books and authors and you could win a prize for children in grades 1-6 at Canfield, Greenford, and Sebring from April 1-30, during library hours. Sponsored by Friends of the Library.
"Easter Fun." Holiday stories, craft and games for children in grades K-6 at East, 4:30 p.m. April 3; South, 4:30 p.m. April 13; and West, 6:30 p.m. April 12.
"Scavenger Hunt: Find 'Spring' at the Library." The hunt is on for school-age children at Lake Milton, April 10, 12, and North Jackson, April 11, 13, during library hours. Win a prize, have some fun!

TEENXTREME PROGRAMS
"Refrigerator Poetry Contest." Celebrate National Poetry Month this April by creating the most original poem using only the words given by TeenXTreme. Your poem could be posted on the website. Enter as many times as you like at any public library in Mahoning County. Prizes will be awarded. Program runs April 1 - 30.
"Guitar Lessons." Learn the basics of playing the guitar! Learn at your own speed. Space is limited so sign up today. Bring your own guitar or an extra guitar can be provided. Grades 7-12. Struthers, 5 p.m. April 3 and 10; Campbell, 5 p.m. April 4 and 18; Brownlee Woods, 5 p.m. April 12 and 19.
ADULT PROGRAMS
"Small Business Start-Up." Thinking About Starting a Business? Potential small-business owners need information. This program features: members from SCORE, counselors to small business, will discuss the business plan, marketing, management, and finances and a librarian from Main Library's Information Services Department will discuss the role of the Library's sources and services from business start-up and beyond. "CSI-Y'town." Fun for mystery fans-readers, writers and mystery movie and TV buffs at Poland, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 18. The program promises a flashback to the 1930s and the crime of that decade, the Lindberg kidnapping. Presenter Jim Fisher, a former FBI agent, has authored two books on the subject, The Lindbergh Case and The Ghosts of Hopewell: Setting the Record Straight in the Lindbergh Case. This special group of mystery fans will meet the third Tuesday of the month at various branch libraries.
"Grant Center: Grantseeking Basics." Orientation to funding research process and Grant Center Collection. Intended for representatives new to the process and who want to know more about our resources or those requiring a refresher at Main Library, 6:30 p.m. April 19. "Lunch & amp; Learn at the Library: Maintaining the Italian Language in the Mahoning Valley Italian-American Community." Dr. Sal Attardo, Linguistics professor at YSU, will present an overview of the maintenance of Italian in this area. Contrary to the common pattern of disappearance of the mother tongue for immigrants by the third generation, Italian-American speakers are still using Italian over a century after the first Italian-speaking immigrants arrived in the Mahoning Valley. The causes for this longevity are explored as well as the possibilities for the preservation of this heritage language at Main Library, noon to 1 p.m. April 11. This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of Main Library and the YSU English Department. Bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee is provided.

Professor Linda Bourassa of Hiram College will be the keynote speaker for the One Book, Two Counties program. Bourassa will discuss the novel and film versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers followed by a viewing of the original film at 3 p.m. A One Book, Two Counties program.
