COLUMBUS -- Applications from minority high school students across Ohio are now being accepted for the Accounting Careers Awareness Program, which will take place June 25-29 in Columbus.
The program, now in its 11th year, is sponsored by The Ohio Society of CPAs and the Ohio chapters of the National Association of Black Accountants with the goal to inspire Ohio minority high school students to pursue their educational and career aspirations.
The program, held at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, gives students a chance to explore the accounting profession and learn firsthand what opportunities await them if they choose to become a CPA or enter the business world after college.
Students participate in real-world experiences during the weeklong program through informative workshops, interactive discussions, facility tours and one-on-one mentoring sessions with minority accounting and business professionals. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to compete for college scholarships.
ACAP-Ohio is a fully supervised, all-expense-paid program made possible through the support of corporate sponsorships and grants. Students interested in applying must submit an application, a 200-word essay and one letter of reference. Applications can be completed online at www.FutureCPA.com and must be submitted by April 3.
