Sunday, June 25, 2006

XCAMPBELL -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Firm of Campbell was celebrated during a reception held in their honor June 9 in the Marble Room at Stambaugh Auditorium.
During the reception, the Firms renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. Bill Covan of Struthers Church of Christ, where they are members.
Hosts for the event were the couple's sons and their spouses, Scott and Sheila Firm and Douglas and Melissa Firm, all of Campbell, and Tim and Cathy Firm of Fort Smith, Ark. There are seven grandchildren in the family.
Richmond Methodist Church was the setting June 9, 1956, as the former Arline Norris and Kenneth Firm were united in marriage.
Mr. Firm served with the Third Marine Division and is a retired ship surveyor and ferrous metals inspector. He is a member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors.
Mrs. Firm is a retired certified nurses aide and the former owner of Firm's ReStorit.
The couple will continue the anniversary celebration during an early fall trip to Colorado and Utah.
