XCAMPBELL -- Mr. and Mrs. Mike Congemi, 65 Memorial Circle, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today during a ceremony at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown and on July 2 by attending Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown, where they are members.
The celebration will continue during a family gathering July 5 at the Croatian Home on Vestal Road, Youngstown, where they will be honored by their daughters and their husbands, Anne and John Yohman and Michelle and Robert Pagley, all of Hubbard, and Cindy and Ray Novak of Poland. Completing the family are seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The former Lucille Naples and Mr. Congemi were united in marriage July 2, 1946, at the former St. Joseph Church on Wick Avenue, Youngstown.
Before retiring in 1985, Mrs. Congemi was employed for 19 years at the G.E. Lamp Plant in Youngstown, and Mr. Congemi was employed 44 years at Commercial Intertech.
Mr. Congemi served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is a member of the VFW Post 3767 in Hubbard, American Legion Post 560 in Campbell and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 213 in Youngstown.
