XThe engagement of Dr. Fareedah Z. Goodwin and Dant & eacute; A. Capers is being announced by their parents.
The bride-elect is a daughter of Mary Max Howard of Warren and Elus Abdul-Salaam of Youngstown, and the future groom is a son of Linda Capers and Tom Capers both of Warren.
Dr. Goodwin graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree and from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine with a doctorate of medicine. She owns a private practice at Warren Family Medical Inc., Howland.
Mr. Capers earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in education at Kent State University. He is a government teacher with Trumbull Career and Technical Center.
The couple will be married in an open ceremony they have planned for 2 p.m. Aug. 5 at Monument of Faith Church of God in Christ in Warren. Their adult-only reception will be held by invitation at Monument of Faith Community Family Outreach Complex.
