A feud between two municipal court jurists erupts as Judge Forest J. Cavalier sends a telegram to Deputy Bailiff Ray Casanta ordering him to report for work at the court at 9:30 a.m. Judge Frank R. Franko responds with a telegram to Cavalier saying Casanta has work to do out of the office. Cavalier says Casanta is doing campaign work for Franko.

Fearing another attempted breakout at the Mahoning County Jail due to crowded conditions, Sheriff Adam Stone asks county judges to approve appointment of two new deputies to serve as guards at night. Sixty prisoners are jailed awaiting trial.
A jury in Judge George Gessner's court fixes the price the city will have to pay the Montani estate at $103,000 for part of a lot at Federal and Watt streets and for damages to the residual land. The city needs the land to widen Watt Street.
