XBRISTOLVILLE -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spitler, 6341 Morrell-Ray Road, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their marriage vows at noon June 10 at Bristolville United Methodist Church, where they are members.
Hosts for the event are their children, William Spitler of North Bloomfield; Kenneth Spitler of Conneaut; Robert Spitler of Bristolville; Bonnie Utsinger of Callahan, Fla.; Corlene Ziegler of Victorville, Calif.; Barb Roth of North Bloomfield; Sheila Persino of Vienna; Roberta Hall of Hilliard, Fla.; and Sue Cordwell of Jasper, Ala. Three children, Charles Spitler Jr., Charlotte Dye and James Spitler, are deceased. There are 33 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren in the family.
The former Dorothy Black and Mr. Spitler were united in marriage June 10, 1956, in the parsonage at Wildare Church in Warren.
Mrs. Spitler was employed at the Johnston Rubber Co. in Middlefield.
Mr. Spitler served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Europe. He retired in 1977 from American Welding in Warren.
The couple are members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of the Moose Club.
