CENE PARK Rondinelli, Livi Steel advance to semifinals

STRUTHERS -- The Rondinelli Tuxedo (2-1) baseball team defeated the Beaver Valley Red Sox, 9-4, on Sunday to qualify for the semifinals of the NABF Senior Tournament at Cene Park.
Ed Deluca had three hits and scored two runs while winning pitcher Corey Collins added two hits. Collins went five plus innings with five strikeouts while Chris Beaty had three runs batted in for the winners.
Brian Billingen, Nate DeFilipi, Brandon Mosely and Nathan Raffle had two hits each for Beaver Valley (1-2).
Livi Steel 9, Pittsburgh Eagles 1
Livi Steel clinched the top spot in the A Pool by scoring seven times in the first three innings.
Eric Pirtz and Brett Grabman had two hits each for Livi (2-1) while Mike Meintel tossed a complete-game three-hitter with six strikeouts.
In today's 3 p.m. semifinals, Livi will face Rondinelli Tuxedo on Cene 1 while Line Drive Academy will take on the Ohio Yankees on Cene 2 . The winners will play on Cene 1 at 5:30 p.m. for the championship and a trip to the NABF Senior World Series in Jackson, Miss.
Line Drive 10, Astro Falcons 2
Line Drive Academy sent 12 men to the plate and scored 10 runs in the second inning to finish pool play undefeated at 3-0.
Joe Bako had three hits and drove home a pair of runs for Line Drive while Ryan Satterlee added a pair of hits.
Justin Gill struck out nine in his four innings of work for the win.
Mike Dota had a double and a single for the Astro Falcons (0-3).

Line Drive won their second game in the tournament by scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning.
Tom Jones singled home Armani Johnson with the winning run.
Kevin Sikora had two hits for Line Drive while Rich O'Brien tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts for the win.
Andy Dobson hit a game-tying double for Rondinelli in the sixth inning while Vince Riola went the distance for the loss.
Livi Steel 9, Yankees 1
Tom Popadak tossed a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Josh Swipas added a single and a double with two runs batted in.
Manoli Pahoulis drove home a pair of runs for Livi which evened its mark at 1-1.
Ben Klafczynski had two hits and scored the only run for the Yankees (1-1).
Beaver Valley 8, Astro Falcons 2
Beaver Valley Red Sox scored three times in the first inning and did not look back.
Nate DeFilippi had two hits, scored three runs and drove in three for the Red Sox (1-1) while winning pitcher Ryan Rubowski added two hits and struck out eight.
Quinton Williams and Anthony Lamont also had two hits each for the winners.
