Councilman offers reward for vandalism info

WARREN -- City Councilman James A. Pugh, D-6th, is offering a $500 reward for information regarding the vandalism of a vacant building he owns at 20841 W. Market St.
The vandals stripped the former McDonald's restaurant bare over several nights last week, Pugh said. The thieves took restaurant equipment and stripped the copper from electric wires and the air conditioning unit.
Pugh estimated the damage to be $10,000. Police are investigating.
Pugh planned on turning the building into a restaurant, but he said he will probably not be able to do that now because of the damage.
Pugh is sponsoring legislation in city council that would give residents a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest of those found vandalizing or stealing from vacant buildings.
Anyone with information regarding the vandalism should call the Warren police at (330) 841-2534.
