Acoustic duo Jay Ungar and Molly Mason perform to a large audience on Courthouse Square in Warren. Their show Friday was part of the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County Summer Night Specials program. The couple, who married in 1991, is considered one of the most celebrated duos on the American acoustic music scene. They perform renditions of Appalachian, Cajun and Celtic fiddle tunes, Civil War classics, songs from the golden age of swing and country, waltzes and original compositions. Their work includes "American Dreamer," a collection of the songs of Stephen Foster in collaboration with baritone Thomas Hampson and pianist David Alpher; "Waltzing with You," an elaboration on their score for the film "Brother's Keeper"; and "Harvest Home," featuring their 20-minute orchestral work, "The Harvest Home Suite," in which they are joined by the Nashville Chamber Orchestra.
