AUCTIONS
Family Service Agency, 535 Marmion Ave., Youngstown, a nonprofit mental health and social service agency, is seeking donations of items or services from area businesses to be sold during an online auction scheduled for March 2, 3, 4 and 5. Items will be accepted through Feb. 17, and names of donors will be included with each item's online description. Proceeds will provide services to families and individuals in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties. Those interested in making a donation may call David E. Arnold, CEO, at (330) 782-5664.
BINGO PARTIES
O-My-O Chapter of American Business Women's Association will sponsor basket bingo beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boardman Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. Admission is $5 for one card and cookies; extra cards are $1 each. Prizes will include several theme baskets, each worth at least at $25. DANCES
Mercer Rotary will sponsor an oldies dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Brandy Springs Community Center, state Route 158, Mercer, Pa. Tickets are $10 per person and will be available at the door or from Rotary members. Snacks and drink mixers are included in the price, and there will be door prizes. Advance tickets are on sale at Mercer's National City Bank or Mercer Mercantile and Soda Shoppe, both on the square in Mercer. Proceeds will be used for public service projects, student
scholarships and Rotary Polio Plus.
Mexican Society of Youngstown will sponsor a Valentine Day dance from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Feb. 11 at St. Rose of Lima Church Hall, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Coitsville. Singles are welcome. A band will provide music, and Mexican food and beer will be available. No carry-ins will be allowed. The cost is $13 in advance and $15 at the door. FUND-RAISERS
Volunteers are needed to help organize the American Cancer Society "Cattle Baron's Ball," which will take place 6 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Henn Homestead, state Route 45, Lordstown. Volunteers will assist with advanced tickets, coordinate invitations and help with other activities. Those interested should call (330) 533-0546 or (888) 227-6446. The fund-raising event will include musical entertainment, games on a midway, a casino, silent auction and food. The society will honor cancer survivors during the ball and remember those who passed away from cancer. Money raised will support the society's programs, including research advocacy, education and services to cancer patients.Argus Lodge will sponsor its sixth annual Argus Arctic Open at noon Feb. 11 at the park pavilion. Youngstown YMCA Central Branch, 17 N. Champion St., and Sweeney Chevrolet are seeking participants for a Spin-A-Thon to be held Saturday in the lower gym of the central branch of the YMCA to raise funds for programs and memberships for the underprivileged or handicapped. Also needed are items for a Chinese auction and volunteers for the event. Gold sponsors, contributing $200, and Silver Sponsors, donating $100, will receive advertising throughout the month. NIGHT AT THE RACES
St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church will hold an adults-only Night at the Races with a Touch of Vegas and a Chinese auction Friday at the St. Nicholas Byzantine Center at the Grove, 3801 Shady Run Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and post time is 7:15. There will be free admission, hot dogs, pizza, pop and coffee.
