Friday, January 27, 2006

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- State officials have approved $1 million in funding through the Water Supply and Wastewater Infrastructure Program to make improvements to the sewage treatment plant in Pymatuning Township that serves three Greenville area industrial parks.
State Sen. Robert Robbins of Greenville, R-50th, said the money will be used to modify the sewage treatment plant in Pymatuning Township that serves the Reynolds North Industrial Park, Reynolds East Business Park and Reynolds Industrial Park. About 1,300 people work in those parks.
The renovations are part of an agreement between the state Department of Environmental Protection and the Reynolds Disposal Co. -- a subsidiary of Greenville-Reynolds Industrial Corp. -- which serves the parks.
The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, created by the state Legislature in 2004 as part of Gov. Ed Rendell's economic development package.
