Ford anniversary is celebrated at Mass, party

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ford, 3607 Beechwood Place, began the celebration of their 50th wedding Jan. 14 during a gathering of friends and relatives Jan. 14 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church hall.
The festivities continue today as the couple are honored during an 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Matthias Church, where they are members.
Hosts for the celebrations were family members, Janice and Tom Rovnak and Robert and Mary Ford, all of Youngstown; Cindy and Ron Lovich of Edinburg, Pa.; Don and Helen Ford of Boardman; Cherie and Mark Sefcik of Austintown; and David and Darla Ford of Poland.
The family includes 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son, John Ford, died in 1987.
The former Betty Mitchell and Mr. Ford were united in marriage Jan. 22, 1956, at St. Leo Church in Ridgway, Pa., and shortly afterward came to Youngstown.
Mrs. Ford was a self-employed dog groomer in Youngstown prior to retiring in 1987.
Mr. Ford retired in 2000 after 43 years of service as an extrusion press operator with General Extrusions Inc.
