LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Freshman reserve guard Levance Fields scored 13 points and No. 12 Pittsburgh remained undefeated with a 61-57 victory over No. 10 Louisville. Aaron Gray's two free throws with two seconds remaining followed three missed 3-pointers by the Cardinals. Gray finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Panthers (14-0, 3-0). Terrence Williams led the Cardinals (13-3, 1-2) with 25 points.
No. 23 Maryland 90, Wake Forest 86
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Mike Jones scored 22 points, D.J. Strawberry added a career-high 18, and Maryland kept Wake Forest winless in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Justin Gray scored a career-high 38 points for Wake Forest, which cut a 17-point deficit to two with 2.9 seconds remaining. Strawberry then clinched it with two foul shots. Nik Caner-Medley scored 17 points to help the Terrapins.
WOMEN
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Candace Parker had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and top-ranked Tennessee remained unbeaten with a 79-56 victory over Mississippi State. Sidney Spencer and Shanna Zolman added 14 points each for the Lady Vols (17-0, 3-0 Southeastern Conference), who opened a four-game road trip -- which includes games at nationally ranked Vanderbilt and Duke -- by improving to 25-0 all-time against the Bulldogs. The Lady Vols never trailed, withstood a Mississippi State rally in the second half and pulled away down the stretch. Tennessee led by as many as 27 in its 11th straight victory in Starkville. The Lady Vols scored 29 points off 21 Mississippi State turnovers. Robin Porter had 15 points, Miayorka Johnson had 11 and Heather Hollis added 10 for Mississippi State (6-11, 1-3).
No. 4 North Carolina 65,No. 25 N.C. State 53
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Erlana Larkins had 15 points and 11 rebounds and North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell picked up her 700th career victory. Camille Little added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Tar Heels (16-0, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who have won nine of the last 10 in the series. Billie McDowell had 14 points to lead the Wolfpack (11-5, 2-2). Hatchell improved to 700-266 in her 31 seasons, including 20 years at North Carolina. She became just the fifth Division I coach to reach 700 wins, joining Tennessee's Pat Summitt, Texas' Jody Conradt, Rutgers' C. Vivian Stringer and LSU's Sue Gunter.
Texas Tech 64, No. 5 Baylor 62
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Alesha Robertson scored 22 points, including a short jumper with less than a second remaining, to lead Texas Tech to the upset. Robertson, who tied her career high for rebounds with 11, got the inbounds pass from Erin Grant on the right side of the lane with 2 seconds remaining. She banked in a shot to put Tech up with half a second on the clock, handing the defending national champions their second loss of the season. Baylor's Angela Tisdale got off a final desperation shot that fell well short. LaToya Davis had 11 points and 15 rebounds for Texas Tech (7-7, 2-1 Big 12) and Erin Myrick added 10 points. Tisdale scored 15 points for Baylor (12-2, 2-2).
No. 17 Minnesota 71,No. 9 Michigan State 58
MINNEAPOLIS -- Reserve Lauren Lacey scored a career-high 16 points and Natasha Williams added 13 to lead the Gophers to the victory. Freshman Emily Fox also had 13 for Minnesota (11-4, 4-1 Big Ten), which outrebounded the Spartans 44-37. It was the first win over Michigan State for Minnesota coach Pam Borton, who had lost five straight to the Spartans. Michigan State (13-5, 3-2) had beaten the Gophers six straight times, and hadn't lost in Minneapolis since Feb. 27, 2000. Lindsay Bowen scored 20 points to lead the Spartans.
No. 13 Georgia 74, Miami 59
ATLANTA -- Cori Chambers hit five 3-pointers and had 17 points and backcourtmate Sherill Baker added 15 points for Georgia. The Lady Bulldogs (12-4) led by at least 20 points for much of the second half. Miami pulled within 68-57 on a 3-pointer by Tamara James with 2:03 left, but couldn't get any closer.
No. 19 Temple 74, St. Bonaventure 65
PHILADELPHIA -- Candice Dupree scored 18 points and Temple won its second straight. Kamesha Hairston had 15 points and Jennifer Owens added 13 for the Owls (12-4, 4-1 Atlantic 10).
No. 23 Vanderbilt 67, South Carolina 59
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Carla Thomas scored all 16 of her points in the second half and Vanderbilt held on for the win. Dee Davis added 15 points for the Commodores (13-4, 2-1 SEC), who have won five of their last six.
