Suspect in animal cruelty turns herself in

BOARDMAN -- A woman who is charged in an animal cruelty case after two dead dogs were found inside her house has surrendered, township police reported in a prepared statement.
Police had issued a warrant through Mahoning County Court here for Laura J. Entrikin, whose last known address is 388 Melrose Ave.
Police report she turned herself in around 4 p.m. Friday. Entrikin is charged with prohibitions concerning companion animals.
Police and township zoning department officials found the dogs, a German shepherd and a terrier mix, among the squalor of trash and debris in the house earlier this week. Neighbors have indicated that Entrikin hasn't lived in the house for weeks.
