Two guns were seized at the shooting scene on Tod Lane.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police have arrested two teenage boys in an attempted robbery, in which two men were shot on the North Side.
Bruce Clinkscale, 33, of South Avenue was in critical condition Friday in St. Elizabeth Health Center. Reports list him as a suspect in the robbery attempt. He has not been charged.
When police arrived at 530 Tod Lane around 8 p.m. Thursday, they found a 29-year-old Canfield Road man with a gunshot wound to his right foot. He was lying near the dining room entrance.
A .45-caliber handgun was found in the dining area and a 9mm was found in the kitchen. Police seized both handguns and multiple casings and live rounds.
A 29-year-old Emerson Place man, who was at the house, told police that Clinkscale showed up, followed by the boys, one of whom had two guns. The man said Clinkscale grabbed one of the guns and told the two victims to give their money and gold to one of the boys.
The Emerson Place man said the other victim tried to disarm Clinkscale and was shot. One of the boys got scared, dropped his gun and ran out, reports show.
The Emerson Place man then picked the gun up and fired two shots at Clinkscale, who was struggling with the other victim, police were told.
The boys, Tony Trevathan, 17, of East Chalmers Avenue and Taiwan Clinkscale, 16, of East Ravenwood Avenue (Bruce Clinkscale's nephew) were taken into custody around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Gypsy Lane, reports show. Both were arrested on charges of felonious assault and aggravated robbery and taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center, police said.
