Church to present 'Phantom of the Opera'

WARREN -- The original "Phantom of the Opera" will visit Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic Ave. N.E., at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Before the tragic, romantic "Phantom" of Broadway, "The Phantom of the Opera" was one of the first horror films. The Phantom was magnificently portrayed by Lon Chaney, and the 1925 film has become a classic of the silent era.
Movie fans can see the original film the way it was intended -- with organ accompaniment by guest organist Tom Trenney. A native of Perry, Ohio, Trenney is the director of music ministries and organist at First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Mich., where he directs five choirs and an extensive music outreach program.
Admission is $5, and free for children 12 and under.
