Woman accused of trying to burn beau

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Geri Trimble, 43, of Parkwood Court is accused of trying to set her boyfriend on fire.
City police said Trimble told them she set the bed on fire in her apartment to kill her boyfriend, Ronald Slovonsky, 59. Police said Slovonsky told them the two had a fight shortly before the fire was reported at 6:18 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, Slovonsky was in the living room when he smelled smoke and found the bed burning in a back room. Trimble was in a nearby bathroom.
Police said Trimble told them she realized after starting the fire it would hurt others in the apartment building and tried to help Slovonsky extinguish it.
Trimble was charged with attempted homicide, arson, causing or risking a catastrophe, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
She remains in Lawrence County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond.
