Track and field
KENT -- Youngstown State senior Satara Freeman won the 55-meter hurdles and Katie Betts won the 200 with two of 31 personal-best marks set over the weekend at the Kent State Tune-Up.
Freeman missed the school record by four hundredths of a second with a time of 8.06 seconds to edge out YSU freshmen Jen Grayson (8.42) in second and sophomore Yandeh Joh (8.50) in fourth.
Betts ran a time of 24.75 to win the 200 and move into second-place on YSU's all-time list.
Damian Wright highlighted the men's squad with a personal-best time of 22.08 in the 200 to place second, and 6.45 in the 55 to place third.
Jeremiah Wright added a sixth-place finish in the 55 (6.54).
R.D. Goodright had a personal-best time of 1:54.14 in the 800 to place fifth, while J.D. Sheppard finished sixth (1:54.34).
Jarrod Davis placed fifth in the weight throw (60 feet, 5 inches) while Drew Weizer was seventh (54-8) and Joe Lahmon was eighth (54-7 1/2).
Bethany Anderson was third in the shot put (45-4 1/4).

Steelers basketball
HUBBARD -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will play basketball against the Brookfield All-Star team March 14 at Hubbard High School.
Anyone who purchased tickets stamped Brookfield Middle School will still have those tickets honored at Hubbard.
Tickets are still available and will be sold to Brookfield residents only on Saturday at Mr. D's Food Fair in Brookfield from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Sunday, tickets for Hubbard residents will be sold at the Hubbard McDonald's from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ticket sales will be a one day only sale and no tickets will be sold the day of the game or at the door.
Tickets are $5 per person.
Doors will open at 5 p.m.
A pre-game show with radio and television personalities will start at 6 p.m. with a mystery team.
The Steelers will play at 8 p.m.
There will be an autograph session at half time of the Steelers game.
There will be four autographed footballs raffled off.
The Steelers present will be autographing these footballs before the game.
There will also be a limited edition autographed football signed by Jerome Bettis to raffle.
Commemorative T-shirts will be on sale for $10.
The Steeler roster is expected to be Charlie Batch, Mike Logan, Ricardo Colclough, Clark Haggans, James Harrison, Chris Hoke, Chris Hope, Brett Keisel, Lee Mays, Bryant McFadden, Troy Polamalu, Willie Parker, Joey Porter, Antwann Randle El, Russell Stuvaints, Max Starks, Ike Taylor, Deshea Townsend, Hines Ward, and Cedrick Wilson.

Myrtle BeachMarathon
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Former Columbiana High teammates Shawn Aker, Justin Boggs and Josh Boggs and their former coach, Andrew Lynden, finished in the top 53 at Saturday's Myrtle Beach Marathon.
Lynden, 30, placed 30th out of 1,602 runners with a time of 3:05.46, followed by Josh Boggs, 23, and Justin Boggs, 23, who placed 41st and 42nd with a time of 3:06.41.
Aker, 24, placed 53rd (3:08.47). Lynden was competing in his second marathon (he ran a 3:19 in Pittsburgh in 2001), while the other three, who were teammates at Columbiana, were running their first marathon.
Since all four finished in less than 3:10, they met the Boston Marathon qualifying time.
Indoor track roundup
*FINDLAY -- Western Reserve junior Alex Rathburn placed first in the shot put (37 feet, 7 1/2 inches) and the weight throw (40-5 1/2) at Sunday's Oiler Invitational indoor track and field meet at the University of Findlay.
Ursuline senior Kyle Muir was second in the weight throw (54-2 1/2) and 10th in the shot (40-3 1/2).
Hubbard senior Kristen Angelo was third in the weight throw (36-7 1/2) and seventh in the shot (30-7).
*PERRY -- Lordstown's Kayla Ellks placed fourth in the long jump (14-10), fourth in the 55-meter dash (7.7), third in the 300 dash (47.0) and led off the second-place 4x100 relay at Friday's 15-team non-qualifying indoor meet at Perry High School.
Joning Ellks on the relay were Jessica Reinke (who also placed sixth in the 300 dash), Ashley Kellar (who also placed second in the high jump) and Ashley Gibbs.
On the boys side, Ryan Pal placed first in the high jump (6-0) and fourth in the 55 hurdles (8.7), while A.J. Keeley was second in the 55 hurdles (8.5), fourth in the long jump (19-1) and third in the 300 dash (39.9). Jeremy Ratell was fifth in the 55 hurdles, Seth Mansell placed fourth in the 300 dash and fifth in the 1600 run and Anthony Cononico was second in the 55 dash. The four also set a school record in the 4x100 relay with a time of 49.9.
Damien Williams named by PAC
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel senior Damien Williams was named player of the week by the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
Williams averaged 34 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2 assists in losses to Westminster (111-100) and Bethany (99-64. He posted a career-high 42 points against Westminster.
