Wilmington board hires administrators

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Wilmington Area Board of School Directors has filled two district administrative positions.
The board, at its Monday meeting, hired George Endrizzi of New Wilmington as elementary schools principal at a salary of $75,000 for the 2005-06 school year.
He replaces former principal George Leidigh, who relocated to St. Augustine, Fla., in September to accept a grant coordinator position for the St. John's County School District.
Endrizzi, who will be responsible for overseeing New Wilmington, Pulaski and East Lawrence elementary schools, began as a substitute teacher for the district in 1993. He then served as a long-term substitute in 1996 and 1997. The board hired him in 1999 as a sixth-grade health and science teacher.
He previously worked as a general contractor in Arizona. In 1993, he and his wife, a professor of education at Westminster College, moved to New Wilmington.
The board also hired Mary Anne Grubic of Grove City as supervisor of special education.
She has served the district in special education for the past five years. Her position will go into effect on July 1. Her salary will be determined as part of the 2006-07 Act 93 administrative compensation plan.
Endrizzi and Grubic will both receive the same fringe benefits offered to other administrative personnel.
