Driver killed in crash on U.S. Route 422

SOUTHINGTON -- An elderly Mineral Ridge man suffered mortal injuries when two westbound vehicles collided at 2 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 422.
Pronounced dead at the scene was Harry Brendlinger, 81, who turned left from the right lane in an attempt to use a turn-around, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
His wife, Naomi, 77, was treated at St. Joseph Health Center.
Brendlinger turned into the path of a vehicle driven by Nicole Hartman, 20, of Warren, who was in the passing lane, the patrol said.
Hartman and her passenger, John Bayley, 23, refused treatment at the scene.
