DIVISION III WRESTLING Brookfield wins sectional, sends 11 to next weekend
ROOTSTOWN -- Brookfield High advanced 11 wrestlers to the Division III district, including four champions.
The Warriors captured the team title with 229 points in the sectional tournament Saturday at Rootstown High School.
Jackson-Milton finished second with 195.5 and had 10 wrestlers advance, including four champions.
Warren JFK placed fifth with 129 points and has six going to district, with two champions. South Range has three going with one champion.
Travis Harbert (31-5) of Garfield won by technical fall over Jackson-Milton's Santino Pizzuto (34-7) in the 103-pound title match.
Matt Mascioll (33-6) of Jackson-Milton pinned Danny Miller (27-14) of South Range in 18 seconds for the 112 crown.
In the 119 weight class, Tristan Thompson (39-2) of Brookfield won by tech fall over Matt Raghett (29-5) of Canton Central Catholic, 17.2.
Justin Miller (34-9) of Brookfield won the 125 title as he pinned Nick Scheetz (19-11) of South Range in 2:58 at 125.
Andrew Padach (28-7) of South Range pinned Matt Hogue (23-8) of Garfield, 1:15 for the 130 title.
Brookfield's Brad Harnett (34-8) won by default over Joe Skaggs of Jackson-Milton at 135.
Ben Dierkes (18-17) of Jackson-Milton dec. Andy Fay (30-15) of Woodridge 4-1 in overtime.
Tom Mariani (9-2) of JFK dec. Josh Balles (22-18) of Mogadore 6-2 at 145.
