Township receives bid, awards repair contracts

AUSTINTOWN -- Township trustees opened bids on roof repairs and awarded a contract for carpeting at the township's building on Westchester Drive.
The bid opening and award occurred during a special meeting Thursday.
A new tenant, Medical Resources Inc., is renting 24,300 square feet for $277,000 a year. The company is expected to move in April. Township administrator Michael Dockry said work will begin soon.
The apparent low bidder out of three companies for roof repair is Sam Boak and Sons of Austintown. The company's bid is $220,680.
The carpeting contract goes to Casual Carpets of Youngstown for $35,750.
Trustees will award the roofing bid at a special meeting Tuesday. They will also open plumbing bids for the building at that meeting.
