Zatvarnicky honored again
Trooper David Zatvarnicky was recently named the Canfield Post trooper of the year for the third consecutive year, and also the District 4 Trooper of the year for the second year.
He was chosen not only for his knowledge and abilities, but also for his friendly and helpful attitude toward his supervisors, his fellow troopers and the public.
Zatvarnicky has been a trooper since 1998. He is from Girard and is a 1995 graduate of Girard High School.
Ace Award for excellence
Trooper Michael G. Wilson of the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Canfield Post was among 13 state troopers recently honored with an Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement.
In 2005, each recipient recovered at least five stolen vehicles and arrested suspects in each theft. A certificate, uniform ribbon and Ace license plates for display on cruisers were presented to each trooper.
Last year, troopers recovered 889 stolen vehicles worth more than $6 million and apprehended 699 suspects tied to vehicle theft in Ohio.

Hanni graduates
Holly Hanni of Boardman has graduated from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Mich.
Hanni was on the Dean's List and earned a certificate of merit in the disabled worker category at the law school. She earned both her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and her master's degree in history from Youngstown State University.
She is a Boardman High School graduate and the daughter of Leila and Don L. Hanni.
