Pavilion rental sign-ups to begin March 18
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The first sign-up day for this season's pavilion rentals at Scotland Meadows Park is from 8 to 10 a.m. March 18, Union Township supervisors said.
Pavilion rentals will be $35, unchanged from last year.
Supervisors also handled these matters:
Agreed to close Municipal Drive on April 8 for a Union School activity.
Allowed the New Castle Soap Box Derby to use the park April 29 to 31, June 17 and Sept. 9 and 10. They also agreed to let the derby members use the meeting room at the municipal building the first Thursday of the month for meetings.
Hired the New Castle firm Walker Benefits to review the township's nonuniformed employee pension plan. The firm will be paid $5,000 to $8,000 plus additional required fees from the plan's assets.
Heard a resident question why the entrance ramp to Pa. Route 60 off U.S. Route 224 has no lights. Township Secretary Sally Byler said she has contacted Pennsylvania Department of Transportation twice about the problem and will again contact the agency.
Agreed to rent all pavilions at the park to the Regional Chapter of the Thunderbird Super Coupe Club on July 1.
