MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Josh Boone scored 18 points and No. 1 Connecticut dominated inside for an 81-75 victory over No. 11 West Virginia on Saturday, the Mountaineers' third loss in four games.
Connecticut (23-2, 10-2 Big East) took over sole possession of second place in the Big East from West Virginia. The Huskies are one-half game behind No. 4 Villanova, which hosts No. 17 Georgetown on Sunday.
The Mountaineers (18-7, 9-3), who were second in the NCAA with 10 3-pointers per game, finished 10-for-28 from beyond the arc against the Big East's top 3-point defense.
Mike Gansey led West Virginia with 25 points, while Kevin Pittsnogle had 13 of his 15 in the second half. Johannes Herber added 14 for the Mountaineers and Frank Young had 12.
UConn is 8-1 against ranked teams this season while West Virginia is 4-4.
No. 5 Gonzaga 79,Loyola Marymount 70
LOS ANGELES -- Adam Morrison scored a career-high 44 points -- 37 in the second half -- to give Gonzaga a share of its sixth straight regular-season West Coast Conference title.
After missing all three of his 3-point attempts in the first half, Morrison was 8-for-10 in the second half, firing 3s from all over the floor, usually well behind the arc.
The win was the 13th straight for Gonzaga and its 20th consecutive in conference.
Brandon Worthy led Loyola Marymount (11-14, 8-3) with 22 points. The Lions are 1-21 in their last 22 meetings with Gonzaga.
No. 7 George Washington 64,Richmond 51
RICHMOND, Va. -- Maureece Rice scored 16 points and Pops Mensah-Bonsu had 10 points and nine rebounds in George Washington's NCAA-leading 14th consecutive victory.
The Colonials (22-1, 12-0 Atlantic 10) led 35-22 at halftime and opened their lead to as many as 16 in the second half. Carl Elliott hit three 3-pointers.
Jermaine Bucknor led Richmond (11-14, 4-7) with 23 points and was 6-for-9 on 3-pointers, but the rest of the Spiders were a combined 4-for-24 from behind the arc.
Alabama 92, No. 8 Tennessee 79
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Ronald Steele had 22 points and nine assists to help Alabama nullify Tennessee's aggressive defense.
The Crimson Tide (15-9, 8-4 Southeastern Conference) used a nearly flawless first half and made 28 of 30 free throws to end the Volunteers' eight-game winning streak.
Tennessee (19-4, 10-2) was trying to win nine straight in the league for the first time since 1981-82 and equal their quickest trip to 20 wins.
Chris Lofton scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half for Tennessee. He went 6-of-8 on 3-pointers, virtually all of them contested and well behind the arc.
Arkansas 85, No. 10 Florida 81
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Ronnie Brewer made a 3-pointer with 54 seconds to play in overtime and batted away a pass as Florida tried to tie it in the closing seconds to preserve the victory.
Brewer scored 24 points and Jonathon Modica scored 22 for Arkansas (17-8, 6-6 Southeastern Conference).
Taurean Green scored 20 points for the Gators, who are 5-4 since starting the season 17-0.
Florida (22-4, 8-4) went up 77-75 in the extra period on baskets by Al Horford and Corey Brewer.
But Arkansas took control when Ronnie Brewer was fouled by Joakim Noah, who fouled out with 16 points, costing Florida a clutch shooter. Brewer converted both free throws for an 80-79 lead.
After a Florida miss, Brewer made a 3-pointer for an 83-79 lead, and the Razorbacks never looked back.
No. 16 Michigan State 90,Michigan 71
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Shannon Brown scored 26 points to lead No. 16 Michigan State past Michigan, 90-71. The win -- coupled with an Iowa loss at Minnesota -- leaves the Spartans one game behind four other conference teams in the loss column.
Michigan State (19-7, 7-5 Big Ten) snapped a two-game losing streak -- both on the road.
Maurice Ager added 19 points and Paul Davis had 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Spartans.
Daniel Horton led Michigan (17-7, 7-6) with 19 points.
Minnesota 74, No. 18 Iowa 61
MINNEAPOLIS -- Vincent Grier scored 18 points to lead Minnesota to its third straight home victory over a ranked team.
Adam Boone had 12 points and Jamal Abu-Shamala added 11 for the Gophers (13-10, 4-8 Big Ten).

NORMAN, Okla. -- Michael Neal scored a career-high 29 points, including three free throws with 8.4 seconds left that lifted Oklahoma to victory.

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Cameron Bennerman scored 26 points to help North Carolina State turn back a late rally by Virginia Tech.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Northern Iowa's Eric Crawford forced double-overtime with a fallaway 8-footer with .8 seconds left, and Eric Coleman followed with six of his team-high 15 points in the second overtime to lift the Panthers to their seventh straight home victory over a Top 25 team.

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Freshman Mario Chalmers helped trigger a 16-2 run for Kansas and the Jayhawks won their ninth straight game.

AUBURN, Ala. -- Glen Davis had 24 points and 11 rebounds to lead LSU to a tough victory over Auburn.
