Lakeview clinches TAC title; Mathews ties for NEAC crown

CORTLAND -- Jen Baker scored 15 points Thursday as the Lakeview High girls basketball team clinched the Trumbull Athletic Conference title with a 49-35 victory over Liberty.
Alynn Martin scored nine points and had 11 rebounds and four assists for the Bulldogs (15-5, 12-2). Amy Downs scored nine points while Joanna Novotny had eight.
For the Leopards (13-7, 9-5), Michelle Dykes led with 13 points while Melissa Dykes had 10.
Girard 49, Newton Falls 29
NEWTON FALLS -- Lauren Chiec scored 15 points and Sarroya Townsend had 12 for the Indians.
Casee Piquet led the Tigers with 16 points.
LaBrae 51, Hubbard 46
HUBBARD -- The Vikings, behind 26-23 at intermission, outscored the Eagles 17-3 in the third quarter and held on for the victory.
Jalisa Elkins sparked the Vikings (8-10, 4-9 TAC) with 12 points and Angelica Pugh added 11.
Maggie Bogdan led the Eagles (7-12, 5-9) with 18 points. Brittany Bullock finished with 10.
Mathews 62, Badger 39
VIENNA -- Four players scored in double figures leading the Mathews High girls over Badger in a Northeast Athletic Conference game.
The Mustangs (13-1) finished in a two-way tie with Maplewood for the league championship.
Mathews (16-4) put the contest out of reach by intermission as it held a 34-23 lead.
Lauren Roscoe, senior guard, sparked the Mustangs with 20 points, which included a 10-of-12 effort from the foul line.
Sarah King chipped in with 14 points while Sophie Paddock and Alli Stein added 12 and 10 respectively. Paddock pulled down 12 rebounds and King had five assists.
Samantha Bonar and Taylor Phillips paced the Braves (8-12, 8-6) with 10 points apiece.
Rayen 67, Warren Harding 30
WARREN -- Brittney Taylor had 25 points, seven steals, three rebounds, two assists and Kenysha Tennant added 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals for Rayen (12-7, 5-1 Steel Valley Conference).
Jahmarra Warfield had eight points and four rebounds for Harding (4-15, 1-6).
Lisbon 54, East Liverpool 53
EAST LIVERPOOL -- The Blue Devils (15-5) went on a 16-2 spurt to take a 47-35 lead by the end of the third quarter, then held off a big rally by the Potters (8-13) to prevail.
Eric Sims paced Lisbon with 18 points. Emily Smith added 17 and Caitlin Glenn had 13. Sims grabbed six rebounds. Glenn made five assists while Erica Snoddy and Smith each had three.
The Potters had 12 players in the scoring column with Kat Ammon, who connected on four 3-pointers, leading the way with 17 points.
