Fans will vote for their favorites in '2006 Country Music Awards'

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
CMT is giving country music fans the power -- again.
Nominees for the "2006 Country Music Awards" are in and the voting lines are open.
The annual awards show crowns the best in country music videos each year as decided by viewers.
This year's show will air live from Belmont University in Nashville, April 10 at 8 p.m. EST.
The nominees for video of the year include Keith Urban's "Better Life," Brad Paisley's "Alcohol," Kenny Chesney's "Who You'd Be Today," Toby Keith's "As Good As I Once Was" and Gretchen Wilson's "All Jacked Up" -- all of which are also nominated in the male and female, respectively, video of the year categories as well.
Among some of the other nominees are Sara Evans in best female video, Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles in the collaborative video category and Billy Currington in the hottest video of the year race.
Actors Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon scored nominations in two categories for their performances on "Jackson" from the Johnny Cash movie "Walk the Line." Phoenix and Witherspoon are nominated in the "best collaborative" and "hottest" video of the year categories.
In the first round of voting, fans whittle down the nominees to four in each of the nine categories. On March 15, the finalists are announced. Fans can vote at www.cmt.com.
