Austintown woman sentenced in drug case

YOUNGSTOWN -- Lisa Sherick, 47, of Signature Place, Austintown has been sentenced to two years' probation and fined $500 for permitting drug abuse.
Sherick appeared Thursday before Judge Maureen A. Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Trafficking in marijuana charges against her husband, Joseph Sherick, 47, were dismissed because he agreed to forfeit $15,000 cash and firearms that belonged to another family member who wasn't charged with crimes. Sentencing for their son, Michael Sherick, 23, will be later. Michael Sherick pleaded guilty in December to two counts of trafficking in marijuana, which authorities said was being grown in the family's home.
