A summary of recent police activity in Girard:
Feb. 13
Assault: A Niles woman visiting a residence in the 400 block of St. Clair Avenue told police a man, 64, pushed her down a flight of steps during an argument.
Theft/criminal damaging: A man in the 700 block of Highland Avenue reported his car was broken into and its dashboard damaged. Stolen was an AM/FM compact-disc player.
Feb. 14
Weapon: Police took a 15-year-old Girard boy into custody after an officer patrolling near Girard High School, 31 N. Ward Ave., said he saw the boy toss what turned out to be a folding knife into some bushes at the school.
Assault: A boy, 11, said a Girard woman grabbed him by the neck and slapped him while the victim was at Trumbull Party Mart, 421 Trumbull Hill Ave.
Breaking and entering: An employee at Werner Trucking Inc., 1226 S. State St., discovered two trailers had been broken into. Boxes were opened, but nothing appeared to be missing.
Feb. 15
Stolen property: An employee at Indalex Aluminum Solutions in Niles reported an aluminum alloy was stolen and possibly taken to Girard Recycling, 426 Hartzell Ave. The loss was more than $5,000.
