Ridge tops Lowellville, stays close in ICL



MINERAL RIDGE -- Vance Keirsey scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds Tuesday to lead the Mineral Ridge High boys basketball team to a 66-59 victory over Lowellville in an Inter-County League game.
The Rams (17-2, 11-2) trail Springfield by one game in the league standings and would need Sebring to upset the Tigers on Friday to gain a share of the title.
Josh Garland added 14 points for Mineral Ridge, while Wade Campbell had 11 and Micah Hall scored 10.
For the Rockets (8-10), Mario Nero scored 19 points and John Wilaj 17.

NORTH LIMA -- With two minutes remaining David Maxwell made a layup shot to put the Raiders ahead and they got even with the Trojans who had beaten them 66-55 Jan. 20.
Maxwell had 12 points and five steals for the Raiders (6-11, 4-9), while Dan Holloway chipped in with 11 points and Josh Less had 10.
Scott Yeagley grabbed six rebounds and Less had five assists.
Jesse James paced the Trojans (7-11, 4-9) with 14 points. Jon Springer added 12.
