PHILADELPHIA -- Villanova used the 3 to beat No. 1.The fourth-ranked Wildcats went 7-for-9 from 3-point range in the second half and beat top-ranked Connecticut, their first victory over a top-ranked team in 10 years. Allan Ray had five 3-pointers in the 22-4 run that gave Villanova (20-2, 10-1 Big East) the lead for good in its ninth straight victory. The Wildcats, who forced the Huskies into 17 turnovers, also got a boost from an unexpected source on offense. Villanova's four guards account for 79 percent of the team's points, but center Will Sheridan matched his career high with 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Wildcats stood up to Connecticut's size advantage.
No. 13 Boston College 59, Stony Brook 47
BOSTON -- Boston College played as if it didn't care, and it showed. Craig Smith scored 19 points and helped Boston College come away with a listless victory over Stony Brook. Tyrese Rice added 10 points and was the only other player in double figures for the Eagles (20-5), who won for the eighth time in nine games and posted their fifth 20-win season in the last six.

DURHAM, N.C. -- Monique Currie bounced back from her worst game for Duke to score a career-high 31 points in the top-ranked Blue Devils' victory. In Duke's previous game Friday night against Virginia, Currie scored two points on 1-for-9 shooting and had five turnovers. She rebounded against Maryland to help Duke (23-1, 10-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) move into a tie with North Carolina atop the conference. Mistie Williams added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Wanisha Smith and Jessica Foley had 12 points each as the Blue Devils won their 14th in a row in the series and denied Maryland a rare Tobacco Road double.
