RALEIGH, N.C. -- Ray Whitney had a goal and two assists, and Rod Brind'Amour added a goal and an assist. Justin Williams also had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, who bounced back from a loss at Buffalo on Thursday night to win for the sixth time in seven games. Cam Ward made 25 saves, and Erik Cole scored an empty-netter in the final minute to seal it in a matchup of the defending Stanley Cup champions and the NHL's top team. Teemu Selanne scored a pair of quick goals early in the second for the Ducks, who have lost three of their last six games.

OTTAWA -- Ray Emery made 27 saves for his second straight shutout, Daniel Alfredsson scored in the first minute and Ottawa extended New York's losing streak to seven games. The Rangers were shut out for the second straight game. The losing streak is their longest since an eight-game skid in the wake of the 2004 trading deadline. Alfredsson gave Ottawa a sudden lead when he tipped Chris Phillips' shot past Henrik Lundqvist at 32 seconds.
Devils 4, Capitals 3
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Scott Gomez had two goals and an assist to help New Jersey beat Washington for the sixth straight game. Sergei Brylin also scored, Patrik Elias had a goal and two assists, and Martin Brodeur made 32 saves for New Jersey. Lawrence Nycholat had a goal, his first in the NHL, and added an assist for the Capitals. Brooks Laich and Alexander Semin also scored.
Panthers 3, Canadiens 1
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Ed Belfour made 32 saves, and Nathan Horton scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period for Florida. Gregory Campbell and Ville Peltonen also scored for Florida in front of a BankAtlantic Center hockey-record crowd of 19,772. Mark Streit scored for Montreal.
Stars 4, Predators 1
DALLAS -- Antti Miettinen had a career-high two goals, both on power plays, and Jere Lehtinen scored the go-ahead goal on a power play for Dallas. Marty Turco made 19 saves, and Patrik Stefan added an empty-net goal with 36 seconds left for the Stars, who've won five of their last seven games. Scott Hartnell scored for Nashville.
Bruins 5, Blackhawks 3
CHICAGO -- Glen Murray, Mark Mowers, Milan Jurcina, Patrice Bergeron and Marc Savard scored for Boston, 4-0-1 in its last five games and 5-1-1 in its last seven. Boston's Tim Thomas stopped 37 shots. He lost a bid for his second shutout this season -- and second in four games -- when Chicago's James Wisniewski scored 1:35 into the third. Bryan Smolinski and Denis Arkhipov also for the Blackhawks.
Blues 4, Avalanche 2
DENVER -- Martin Rucinsky scored two goals, and St. Louis goalie Manny Legace made 30 saves to beat Colorado for the eighth straight time. Keith Tkachuk and Bill Guerin also scored for the Blues. Joe Sakic and Wojtek Wolski scored for the Avalanche.
Flames 6, Kings 4
CALGARY, Alberta -- Jarome Iginla scored his 21st goal of the season and added three assists to help the Calgary Flames snap a three-game losing streak. Dion Phaneuf and Alex Tanguay also scored for Calgary, which moved into a tie for first with Minnesota in the Northwest Division. Lubomir Visnovsky scored twice for Los Angeles, and Craig Conroy and Alexander Frolov added goals. Iginla opened the scoring at 5:39 of the first period. With the Flames on the power play, Iginla took a pass from Kristian Huselius and skated out of the corner and slid a shot under goalie Barry Brust for his first goal in six games. With Calgary ahead 2-1 early in the second and on a 2-minute two-man advantage, Iginla helped the Flames grab their first two-goal lead, setting up Langkow's goal from the slot at 2:54.
