McKinley tops Warren Harding, again

Ursuline stayed unbeaten with a 71-51 win over Cleveland South.
CANTON -- The Warren Harding High boys basketball team is getting closer to beating Canton McKinley, but it's not there yet.
Johnie Davis had 17 points and Leo Turpin added 14 as McKinley held off the Raiders 61-58 in the championship game of the Canton McKinley Holiday Classic at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.
McKinley (6-1), the two time defending Division I state champions, outscored the Raiders 17-12 in the third quarter to grab a 41-37 lead entering the fourth period.
Damian Eargle had nine points and 15 rebounds for the Raiders (6-2), who have lost to McKinley in the postseason the past three years.
Keelyn Franklin had 20 points and Chris Henderson added 10 for Harding, which defeated Columbus Brookhaven 68-59 in Thursday's first round game. McKinley defeated Akron Buchtel 80-66 in the other first round matchup.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Ryan Burton scored 23 points to lead the unbeaten Irish.
Also scoring in double figures for Ursuline (7-0) were D'Aundray Brown and Nick McCartney with 18 apiece. Brown pulled down 14 of the Irish's 32 rebounds.
Fitch 60, Chaney 57
POLAND -- William Jones scored 19 points while John Stockman had 16 to pace Fitch in the consolation game of the Poland Holiday Classic .
The Falcons shot out to a 31-15 halftime lead, then had to fend off a Chaney rally to win.
Victor Toney had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Chaney (1-9).
Canton Central Catholic 48,Wilson 36
CANTON -- Ian Smith, Nick Foster and Corey Berry scored in double figures for the Crusaders (5-3). Smith scored 13 points while Foster had 12 and Berry 10.
For the Redmen (3-3), William Johnson scored 17 points while Montell Scott had nine points and eight of Wilson's 17 rebounds.
