Gunman gets pain pills from pharmacy
BOARDMAN — A gunman robbed a Southern Boulevard drug store, taking 1,000 tablets of a powerful painkiller.
An employee of Brown’s Drug Store told police that she was working at the pharmacy counter about 4:30 p.m. Thursday when the man came into the store. Because the pharmacy was busy, the man waited in another area of the store until the line of customers thinned out.
The man then approached the counter and handed the woman an empty Oxycontin pill bottle and a plastic bag. He told her, “fill this with these,” a police report said.
When the employee looked up, the man had a gun pointed at her. She filled the bag with bottles of the pills. The value of the 1,000 pills is about $3,000. Two witnesses also reported seeing the robbery.
