December 28, 1956: A Youngstown Sheet & amp; Tube Co. executive plane crashes in a field near Pulaski, Pa., killing three crewmen: Pilot A.L. Tucker, co-pilot A.E. Gravelle and a mechanic, Wid Tillotson Jr.
Five workers are injured in an explosion at the American Cyanamid & amp; Chemical Corp. plant near Edinburg, Pa.
Merit raises ranging from 10 to 15 per month for 32 employees at the Mahoning County Home are approved by the Mahoning County Welfare Advisory Board.
December 28, 1931: A gasoline stove explodes at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brighthill near North Lima, killing the couple's three young daughters and leaving Mrs. Brighthill near death.
Some 28,000 motorists in Mahoning County have only four days to purchase their 1932 license tags. The four depots in the county are doing a land-office business. Police have warned that vehicles without up-to-date tags will not be allowed to operate.
