Renovators unearth time capsule at school

HARRISBURG (AP) -- Construction crews doing renovations at Harrisburg High School found themselves with an unexpected blast from the past, unearthing a time capsule behind the original cornerstone of the 80-year-old John Harris building.
The 2-foot-square box contained four Harrisburg newspapers from August 1925, a small Bible, an American flag and a copy of blueprints for the building.
Workers found the time capsule last week while moving the cornerstone during building renovations to make way for a wheelchair ramp.
The box contained copies of four newspapers. The Patriot, The Evening News, and the Harrisburg Telegraph were editions from Aug. 6, 1925; a copy of the Harrisburg Sunday Courier was dated Aug. 2, 1925.
