Psychiatrist to evaluate biker in 2 deaths

UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A psychiatrist hired by prosecutors will evaluate a man accused of using his truck to ram a motorcycle, killing his former girlfriend and the driver.
Fayette County Judge John F. Wagner Jr. on Friday signed an order allowing Dr. Bruce A. Wright of Pittsburgh to visit Edward A. Belch, 46, of McClellandtown, at the Fayette County Prison this week.
Belch is charged with first-degree murder in the May 10, 2005, deaths of Terri Lynn Gresko, 44, and Thomas D. Myers, 54.
Prosecutors accuse Belch of chasing Gresko and Myers and ramming his truck into the motorcycle, driven by Myers. Gresko was a passenger on the bike.
Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty if Belch is convicted.
Dr. Lawson Bernstein, a psychiatrist for the defense, earlier said that due to a mental problem Belch would have been "unable to premeditate, deliberate and form homicidal specific intent," according to court documents.
Authorities said Belch's blood-alcohol level was 0.159 percent, above the state's legal limit of 0.08 percent.
