FUNDRAISERS
The 9th annual Jingle Bell 5k Run will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Canfield Fairgrounds, where a one-half mile race for children 12 and under will begin at 12:45. Proceeds will benefit the Silver Lining Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to individuals with malignant diseases. Registration fees are 15 for the 5k and 2 for the kids' race, which includes a finisher's medal to all participants. Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, the top male and female masters, and the top three in various age groups. For more information call (330) 788-4068.
SPECIAL EVENTS
A New Year's Eve party will be held Sunday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the BYOB event. The cost is 25 per person and will include a buffet meal from 8 to 10 p.m., entertainment from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., a continental breakfast from midnight to 1 a.m. and bar setups.
