NHL ROUNDUP \ Saturday's other games

Senators 6, Flyers 3
PHILADELPHIA -- Ottawa captain Daniel Alfredsson knows exactly what the Senators must do without their leading scorer, Jason Spezza. Alfredsson scored twice, including the go-ahead goal with 8:25 left, and the Senators extended the Flyers' franchise-record losing streak to nine games. The Senators were without Spezza, who suffered a knee injury against Tampa Bay on Thursday and is out indefinitely. He had scored 44 points (19 goals, 25 assists). "We're going to have to play better defensively," Alfredsson explained. "Goals are going to be harder to come by with Spezza out. Paying attention to detail, especially in our own end and in the neutral zone is going to be very important. Special teams is going to have to do the job for us." Joseph Corvo, Chris Phillips, Denis Hamel, and Peter Schaefer also scored for the Senators, who had dropped two straight and six of their previous eight games. "Defensively, we got too much spread out and teams were coming with speed on us in the neutral zone," Alfredsson said about the Senators' losses. "We had to back off and gave them a lot of time and space. Skill teams like Nashville and Detroit exploited that and made it real hard for our goalie." Ben Eager, Jeff Carter and Kyle Calder scored for the Flyers, who set a franchise record by losing their sixth straight home game. Philadelphia had dropped five straight in 1969 and 1990.
Bruins 4, Canadiens 2
BOSTON -- Milan Jurcina and Stanislav Chistov scored 1:11 apart early in the third period to lift the Bruins over Montreal, ending the Canadiens' five-game winning streak. Marco Sturm had a power-play goal for Boston, and Zdeno Chara had the other score to help the Bruins win their third straight. Michael Ryder scored a short-handed goal for the Canadiens, who lost for just the second time in eight games. Michael Komisarek had Montreal's other goal.
Thrashers 5, Devils 2
ATLANTA -- Shane Hnidy scored the go-ahead goal in the second period, and Slava Kozlov padded the lead midway through the third in the Atlanta's victory. Atlanta has won three straight overall and three in a row over the Devils, including two victories in five days. The Thrashers have six consecutive victories over New Jersey at Philips Arena. Zach Parise scored two goals for the Devils.
Capitals 3, Maple Leafs 2
TORONTO -- Alexander Ovechkin scored his 24th goal, Olaf Kolzig made 35 saves and the Washington Capitals held on. Alexander Semin and Dainius Zubrus also scored power-play goals for the Capitals. Mats Sundin scored twice in the third period to rally Toronto. He scored on a penalty shot at 3:16 of third and again just 14 seconds later.
