Coping with loss
Ideas to help cope with the holidays after the loss of a loved one:
Give a gift to a local charity in honor of your loved one.Hang a Christmas stocking in memory of your loved one.Decorate if it feels good, or allow yourself not to decorate.Buy a gift for your loved one and give it to someone in need.Light a candle each day during the holiday in memory of your loved one. Give yourself permission to be sad or to have a good cry.Avoid alcohol and too many sweets as they may increase depression and sad moods.
