Hanover topples Titans, 116-90

The teams hadn't met in 24 years since the NAIA national tournament.
HANOVER, Ind. -- What a difference 24 years makes.
Westminster College came out on the short end of a 116-90 contest against Hanover Thursday night in the first meeting between the teams since 1982.
That year, Hanover won, 49-39, in a NAIA national tournament game. Thursday, the Titans trailed 62-49 at halftime.
Greg Rosatelli scored 18 points for Westminster (5-5), while Ryne Murray added 15 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Nick Adams (11), David Richards (10) and Steve Bielich (10) also reached double figures.
Hanover (7-4) was led by Marc O'Leary's career high 29 points. He made all 12 shots from the floor, including 5-of-5 on 3-pointers. Desmond Jordan added 20 points and Robby Brown finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Hanover shot 59 percent (45-of-76) while the Titans managed just 42.5 percent (34-of-80).
Heidelberg 88, Hiram 50
TIFFIN -- Heidelberg shot 61 percent in the first half and cruised to a non-conference victory.
The 'Berg (6-4), which bolted to a 56-23 halftime lead, was led by Chad Szalay's 22 points. Brian Schmidt and Ron Higgins added 12 apiece.
Ian Pfouts scored 19 points to lead Hiram (2-6), which shot just 28 percent (21-of-75) for the game and was outrebounded, 52-40. Jason Hebeisen added 10 points for the Terriers, who finished with four assists and 17 turnovers.
Women
HIRAM -- Cassie Bedard scored 20 points and added 12 rebounds, both game-highs, to lead Hiram past Chatham, 77-53.
Pamela Spencer added 14 points and Stephanie Zunic had 11 for the Terriers (3-5), who led 38-22 at halftime.
Chatham (2-8) was led by Erica Bilski's 18 points and Amanda Vranka's 10.
