SteelHounds back home against Ice Bats tonight

Youngstown is coming off a 21-day, eight-game road trip.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown SteelHounds return home for the first time since Nov. 25 when they begin a three game series tonight against the Austin Ice Bats at the Chevrolet Centre.
Youngstown went 4-3-1 on the eight-game, 21-day trip which saw the 'Hounds travel from one end of the country to the other.
Pacing Youngstown through out the trip as well as the season has been the veteran connection of Chris Richards and Jeff Christian. The only two guys over 29-years-old on an otherwise young team have been nothing short of dominating throughout this CHL season as they tied for the league-lead in assists with 28 and in total points with 42.
The captain and player/assistant coach, Christian has the longest active point streak in the league at 10 games scoring eight goals along with 14 assists. Not to be out done, Richards is on a seven-game point streak with three goals and seven assists, keeping pace with his line mate.
Play well together
When asked about each other Richards said, "We just know where each other are on the ice and it's real easy when you're playing with someone that you've played with for two seasons." Last season Christian led with 55 goals, on his way to 107 points while Richards chipped in 22 goals to go with his 70 assists from last season.
The captain had nothing but positives to say when talking about his line mate stating, "We cheer for each other, there is no trying to out do one another because we both want to succeed for the team and it's great when you have someone on your line that you can trust like Chris. We have an understanding on what our jobs are when we're on the ice."
Currently in second place
The SteelHounds are in second place in the Northeast Division and will look to the "Veteran Connection" of Richards and Christian to get the team closer to first place with these three games against Austin this weekend.
All of the weekend games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. starts.
