Halfhill hits 24 as Cards win, 73-46

Canfield outscored Struthers 27-2 in the third quarter to stay unbeaten.
STRUTHERS -- Bryanne Halfhill scored 10 of her 24 points in the third quarter when unbeaten Canfield (5-0, 1-0) outscored Struthers, 27-2, and the Cardinals went on to a 73-46 victory in the Metro Athletic Conference Wednesday.
A young Struthers squad, which was plagued by turnovers in the third period, starts freshmen Dana Mathews and Ashley Baron. Another freshman, Helen Hird, came off the bench Wednesday night.
Ashley Galbraith, a junior, had 12 points for the Lady Wildcats (2-4, 0-1 MAC).
Sebring 41, Lordstown 30
SEBRING -- Sebring trailed at halftime, 14-9, then came alive in the second half with better passing to spread Lordstown's defense en route to winning.
Megan Allcorn, a junior post player, had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Chelsea Need grabbed six rebounds for Sebring (4-3).
Sophomores Whitney Blank and Brianna Blodgett combined for 17 points for Lordstown (2-6), a team with no seniors and one junior -- Heather Wickline.
Neshannock 32, Warren JFK 28
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Neshannock rallied from a halftime deficit to topple Warren JFK.
The Lancers trailed 15-11 at halftime, before outscoring the Eagles 19-13 in the second half.
JFK (3-5) was led by Michelle Chaver with 11 points and Samantha Brys with 10.
West Branch 43, Louisville 38
BELOIT -- West Branch took control in the second quarter then held off Louisville to post its third victory.
Amanda Stiffler led the Warriors (3-3, 3-1 NBC) with nine points while Kelsey Wartluft added six rebounds.
Maria Jaeb had 19 points for Louisville (5-2, 4-1 NBC).
Sharon 61, Slippery Rock 47
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Cara Dolci scored 18 points, including four 3-point goals, while Brittany Csatlos had 14 points, nine rebounds, nines assists and six steals to lead Sharon, which remain unbeaten overall and in Class AAA Region 5, District 10 on Tuesday.
Katie Kelly added 12 points for Sharon (7-0, 3-0), which canned 25-for-51 from the field and 6-for-8 from the foul line.
Jenna Rinker scored 13 points to pace Slippery Rock, while Karly Rhoads had 10 and Jence Rhoads nine plus five rebounds.
