Wilson beats Chaney as Johnson scores 25

YOUNGSTOWN -- William Johnson was unstoppable in the first boys varsity game in the Cowboys' new gymnasium Saturday night.
Johnson led Wilson (2-2) with 25 points and also pulled down 13 rebounds, as the Redmen defeated Chaney, 59-44. Montell Scott scored 11 points for Wilson.
Taon Belcher and Evan Bush paced the Cowboys (0-5) with eight points apiece.
Newton Falls 57, Jefferson 55
NEWTON FALLS -- Matt Dillon connected on a shot from the baseline, then sank a free throw with eight seconds remaining, leading Newton Falls over Jefferson.
Six-foot-10 sophomore Marcus Fowler of Newton Falls blocked a Jefferson shot at the buzzer.
Dillon missed the school record by a point as he scored 43 for Newton Falls (1-1). He also grabbed 11 rebounds.
Tyler Wright and David Long led the Falcons (2-3) with 13 points apiece. Zak Blair added 11.
