Palermo leads Bethany's rout with 21 points



BETHANY, W. Va. -- Marc Palermo scored a career-high 21 points and added five rebounds and five assists as Bethany College defeated Mount Aloysius 123-105.
Palermo (Ursuline) shot 6-for-9 from the field as the Bison (8-3) scored the fourth most points in school history.
Bethany opened the game on a 13-0 run. Mount Aloysius is 3-5.
Slippery Rock 76,Columbia Union 65
ERIE, Pa. -- Glenn Reepmeyer scored 15 points and added 11 rebounds, both team highs, to lead The Rock in the consolation game of the Mercyhurst Tournament.
Jamar Scales added 14 points for Slippery Rock (3-6), which led 30-25 at halftime.
The Rock shot 50 percent (16-of-32) in the second half while outscoring Columbia Union, 46-40.
Matt Scahefer added 12 points and Brandon Thompson came off the bench to score 11 for The Rock.
Corey Blythe led Columbia Union (0-10) with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while Elvis Rivera added 13 points and Marice Stallion scored 12.
Northwood (Mich.) 89,Slippery Rock 87
ERIE, Pa. -- Northwood outscored The Rock 19-8 over the final 4 minutes, 6 seconds, in the first round of the Mercyhurst Tournament Saturday night.
Scales scored 26 points for The Rock, while Schaefer added 18. Erroll Robinson finished with 11 points and Thompson and Reepmeyer both scored 10.
Aaron Simpson scored 34 points for Northwood (3-5), including two free throws with 13 seconds remaining that made it 89-85.
Curt Lutdke added 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Asen Marchev scored 15 points.
Enrique Hope finished with 11 points.
